James Kilner b1768
« on: Tuesday 02 February 10 13:41 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace the birth and  marriage of James Kilner b1768 in Mansergh(parents John Kilner and Ann Garret).

Family search record him as marrying Elizabeth Revell(1797) and Ann Stone(1810) in Sheffield but the 1841 and 1851 census show that James as being born in Yorkshire.

I would like to try and confirm whether there are 2 James' or whether he recorded a false place of birth on the census.

There are a fair few Kilners in and around the South Westmorland area, so it is probable that they are 2 different people. It may also be worth considering searching for the burial of James in Mansergh for elimination purposes.
