Finding a grave without much information
« on: Thursday 04 February 10 07:20 GMT (UK) »
I am hoping to find the grave of my Grandmother who may have died in 1982 in the U.K. As I am new to this type of research, can anyone please tell me if this is possible and where to start my search.
Thank you. Loo.

Hello there Loo and welcome to Rootschat.

Firstly we need to establish where and when she died.

If you want to give us some info- name and approx date of birth,we'll see if we can find her.

Then we can go from there- you may need to purchase her death cert (£7)

Regards

Carol

Hello Carol, Thank you for your reply.
Her name was Nancy McKay Leishman and she was born on the 20th April 1905 in Melrose, New Zealand. Birth Certidicate No: 299763. National No: 2076.
Her name at death was Nancy McKay Haig and the only record I have ever found of a death that could be hers is June 1982 in the district of Ken & Chelsea, Vol 13 Page 1464.
My aim is to have a photo of her grave and headstone as well if it can be located.
Loo.

Certainly sounds like her doesn't it?

Read this link to burials in London that Valda has typed up,you might find it useful.
