1851 census
« on: Friday 18 March 05 00:29 GMT (UK) »
hello
I have just stumbled upon a new line with the surname Bellinger. Bathsheba Bellinger baptised at St Matthews Bethnal Green in 1823 daughter of George and Bathsheba Bellinger (nee Hilliard, father James and mother Margaret). I believe that the Bellingers and Hilliards were involved in the silk weaving trade and lived in Shoreditch and Bethnal green. If anyone has an index for the area of Bethnal Green or Shoreditch could they please have a look for the names Bellinger or Hilliard for me please.

            many thanks
                                    Jayne

This one's, HO107/1542 F 156 Page 302.
Bathsheba Bellinger Head Widow 55? Weavewife London
James             "         son               14 At home       Bethnal Green

HO107/1540 F 114 Page 215.
James Hilliard 36 Weaver   Spitlefields middx
Sarah      "      33  Needlewoman  Stratford Essex.

Just these two were matches. And Bathsheba's age looked more 55 then 33, although Sylviaanns ref's would have been transcribed to a book, so maybe thats correct.
