Betsy Jane TURNER (b. 1851, Bassingham, Lincs)

I am trying to find out what happened to Betsy Jane TURNER. She was born & baptised in 1851 in Bassingham, Lincolnshire to her mother Eliza TURNER. Eliza later married Henry BRUMMITT and then Francis WOMBWELL. In the 1861 census, 9 year old Betsy is living with her TURNER grandparents. In 1871, I believe she is a servant in Mansfield, Notts. However from there on, I can't trace her. Can anyone figure out if she married or died?

Hi Alexander,
Just a suggestion.

If she married in Notts there are only 2 possible Reg. between 1871 and 1881.
( I presume you cant find her on the  1881 Census?)

There may be another spouse on this record that is missing.

Try looking for Betsy Shelton, born 1851, Bassingham, Lincs, on 1881 Census and then just work through surnames until you hopefully find a match

If she went back to  Lincs it may be harder to find.

Somehow I seemed to miss that death. It looks like that is the right one, I will investigate it further. I had been through all the Betsys born in Bassingham for the 1881-1901 censuses with no success at all - well that would explain why.
