Ok, Well a few questions before we get too bogged down.

Did she survive to adulthood?
When does she disappear from census?
Any family rumours of a marriage?

Wow Pauline that was fast , I know Mary and the whole Brown family lived in Dent before moving in the late 1840s to Lancaster.
Would you happen to know why George was sent to wakefield prison? I was hoping to find a black sheep in our family!

Probably something  fairly mundane by today's standards.
I really don't know about prison research.

Try having a good scout about on this site. I'm sure they'll be something in here

Bap at Hawes:

July 6th 1851 Mary Jane Brown dau of George and Elizabeth of Gayle labourer.

I do not see a marriage or burial which fits for her in that local area.
Percival, Hird, Heseltine, Wilson,  Horn(e), Thwaite, Storey, Iveson, Metcalfe, Dinsdale and Sunter and the farms and families of Bishopdale.
