1841 census - PURTON

Hi,

On behalf of a fellow researcher I am trying to find the following family in the 1841 census. I have searched on the website A*****y.co.uk but cannot find them even with some fairly fuuzzy searches they just do not appear. The following is from the 1851 census when they where living in Enborne Berks:

John PURTON head born circa 1782 - Hungerford
Hannah PURTON wife born circa 1784 - Enborne
+kids

IGI shows  a John and Hannah PURTON with a whole string of kids baptised in Enborne as follows:

1. HARRIET PURTON  15 DEC 1811 Enborne, Berkshire, England
2. GEORGE PURTON  12 MAR 1820 Enborne, Berkshire, England
3. DAVID PURTON 21 OCT 1821 Enborne, Berkshire, England
4. CHARLES PURTON 18 SEP 1814 Enborne, Berkshire, England
5. HENRY PURTON 27 MAY 1827 Enborne, Berkshire, England
6. SILVIA PURTON  28 FEB 1813 Enborne, Berkshire, England
7. LYDIA PURTON14 JAN 1816 Enborne, Berkshire, England
8. MARIANN PURTON 19 OCT 1823 Enborne, Berkshire, England
9. DANIEL PURTON 17 MAY 1818 Enborne, Berkshire, England

But I can't find John and Hannah or kids - any help with their location in 1841 much appreciated,

Try searching Furton. HO107/21/3 Enborn

John Furton/Purton and family. It looks like yours.

Hi Jen,

I knew Rootschat would do it again - record time and spot on.  I am not well pleased with the indexing on that well known web site - looking at the image myself it looks like Purton - but maybe that is with the benefit of hindsight.

Anyway thanks a bundle for the very swift response - I will pass it on to the lady concerned,

I think it looks like Purton too.

I found it by looking for...John, born 1785 +/- 5years, living in Enborne. No surname because I thought it might be one which could easily be wrongly transcribed. He came out top of the list!
