Alfred TIPPETT - *COMPLETED*

Hi there,

I am trying to find out what happened to my great grand uncle Alfred TIPPETT

His birth is registered as Alfred TIPETT parents Mark and Ellen
Date of birth 23/12/1874 Auckland, New Zealand

His father Mark died 11/6/1910 and mother Ellen died 3/8/1920

I have all his siblings births, marriages and deaths.

I have checked BDM for a marriage and death in NZ but no luck

I am now wondering if he went to the UK or Australia

Alfred has no middle name

If anyone can help that would be great

He's not on 1896 E Roll or 1900 st Directory

Thats a strange one, you'd think hed at least show somewhere..not on WWI census either

Alfred would have been 35 in 1910 and 45 in 1920 if that helps at all

You would think he would be somewhere.

I wonder if he could read and write

His father died at Middle street in 1910 and that street is still in Auckland.
His mother died in Bay of Islands and is buried in Long Beach cemetery, Russell.

Did his siblings stay in NZ?

Could he have changed his name or gone under an alais?

I have a Great Grandfather born similar time who dosn't show up on the WW1 census either.

From what I understand all his siblings stayed in NZ. I have not managed to find his youngest sister yet

His siblings were

James Tippett 27/10/1876 - 25/6/1940
Harriet 29/9/1878 - 29/4/1879
William 29/9/1878 - 10/4/1879
Edith 11/5/1880 - 19/3/1911
Amelia AKA Millicent  26/12/1882 - 27/9/1952 (My great grandmother)
Agnes 8/9/1885 - 20/3/1961
Frederick Thomas 27/10/1887 - 30/4/1955
Ellen 19/5/1894 died after 1920

All born Auckland

I just received this bit of info from my cousin today

The only information that I have on Alfred is that he was attending Nelson
St School in Auckland in 1882 aged 7 years, 7 months. 

For Ellen all I know is that she was enrolled at Napier St School, Auckland
in 1906. She applied to have her mother released from Auckland Asylum 31 Aug
1911. She must have been still alive when her mother died.

Hi Newbe
Would be worth contacting the schools officer NZSG or an Auckland branch that are indexing school records
They may at least then give you school movements and hopefully work destination
