You could post his name or Regiment if known and maybe we could help! I know that many people do not like posting names of close relatives. So maybe the Regiment just to wet our appetites. There were many units of Royal Artillery that served there and of course other regiments. The more information the better. Age, dates and places all help to solve the puzzle.

Thank you,His name was Francis Joseph Thompson (known as TEX) all i know he was stationed there dueing ww2.it would have been the Army.
