Smyth of Ballybrittus
« on: Sunday 21 February 10 16:53 GMT (UK) »
Michael Smyth married Bridget Farrell 23 April 1858 in Lea parish.

The family lived in Ballybrittus until 1900, any information on either person would be appreciated.

The name of the village is Ballybrittas which is about 3 miles south of Monasterevin,Co. Kildare.I actually live in Lea myself.Do you know did they stay in the area or leave ?If you reckon they stayed I could go have a look in the local graveyard and see if I can find their gravestones.

Thank you for your interest.

Bridget Smyth, nee Farrell appears in the 1911 census of Sallyford, Belin aged 76 years with her sons, Michael and Patrick.   I believe that she died shortly after this.      Her husband, Michael Smyth died before 1901 as she is a widow in that census, again living in Belin.  I have no knowledge as to where either are buried.

Again, thank you for your interest.
Anne.
