Hi,
Does anyone know if there was ever a location called Hastings Heath, and if so where was it?
Thanks

Hi Tracey
Doesn't sound familiar to me. Did you try googling it?

Hi Kerry,
Yes, spent ages looking for some proof that the place exsists or once did, but no luck so far. I have been in touch with the museum in Hastings today and one of the archivists is looking into to it for me, so hopefully I'll know one way or the other.
Although if there is no such place I will always wonder where my great grandmother was refering to!
Thanks
Tracey

Hi Tracey
What was she referring to? Was it an address? Or I wonder if it was a local name for an area of Hastings. There are certainly some heathy bits, Hastings Country Park for instance has some heathy bits.

Actually I am just wondering if it might be worth contacting the Country Park, in case they are able to help.

Hi TraceyD
I too searched my archives and all the data that I had to try and find some reference to Hastings Heath - but to no avail, Sorry.
Even went on line to the 'Hastings Chronicles' web site - but there was nothing on there either
http://www.hastingschronicle.com/key-events/
click on 'Archives' then search
Sorry

Thanks Kerry and Chris.
I have contacted the Country Park as suggested, and will see if they have any suggestions. I do not have an address, I think she was literally refering to a heath (park/field). Will let you know if I discover anything.
