Mary White- COMPLETED
« on: Wednesday 24 February 10 00:30 GMT (UK) »
From the 1871 English Census.
Mary White b.abt 1852 in Ireland father an Englishman, Jarvis White b. abt 1829 Nottingham. Looking at the Census it would suggest that Jarvis married twice possible in Ireland.

From: Oral family history.
My mother Beatrice Bell b. abt. 1894 said her grandmother came from County Cork, Ireland.

The only records I have for Mary is in the 1871 Census.

Need a little help, Thank you. ::)

I don't know if this is much help to you but there was a Mary White born to a JERVAIS White in 1852 in Birr, Co Offaly. You would have to buy the record for €5 on www.brsgenealogy.com to confirm if it's your gmother.

Thank you very much indeed for the look-up. I will send off for the marriage certificate first. There is a non confirmed statement that Jervis was a soldier. So that could explain why he was in Ireland.
My mother Beatrice Bell who is long since dead always spoke of this connection and that's why she was nicknamed Pat. As a kid you here these stories but put nothing to it.

Hello,
I sent for the Marriage certificate and faxed the form with CC details on the 25 Feb 2010 nothing has shown up on my Bank Account yet. How long does it take Ireland to process certificates.

Thanks for you advice I will be patient. In about 3 months I will be in the UK and I would like to go to Mary's birthplace assuming the Marriage Certificate matched the baptism.

.... like to go to Mary's birthplace assuming the Marriage Certificate matched the baptism. ...

just to let you know marriage certs do not list where the bride and groom were born, just their residences at the time of the marriage.

see - Details included on a Marriage Cert.
