Bradford Birth

Hi,

Just wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction.

We have found a baptism record on the IGI for a Mary Ann Lane 18 Jul 1819 to Henry and Sarah Lane.

I've searched Ancestry.com and they don't have the record on their site at all, just wondering how we can get further information on the baptism?

Would it be best to contact our local LDS centre here in Oz and request the batch no??

the batch number and call out numbers are
C107651  1813 - 1825  0990533-0990535   Film  6911014   Film 
This refers to bishop's transcripts for Bradford.
There are no other recorded baptisms for children of Henry Lane from that batch number.
The transcripts can be searched at the County record offices at Wakefield. They will do a search for you for a fee and should be able to answer your questions.

I have some progress for you
again from Family search, this time for Henry Lane 1800 +/- 20
2 possibles but only one in Bradford.
Marriage to Sarah Murgatroyd at Tong 15 Aug 1818
From there I went to
http://vitaldb.moorlandit.com/
and again searched for Henry
There was a marriage recorded at  St James Tong
Henry is a bachelor occ. woolcomber
Sarah a widow and the marriage is by banns
witnesses James Sowden and Robert Dalby.

Hi again Nereda,
I don't know if you are aware of where Tong is - right on the border of Leeds and Bradford. The Statistics site covers that area and includes places in Leeds and in South Bradford.
I put a search in for the surname Lane and requested an exact match. There were 2 pages of results that you might be interested in. They included baptisms circa 1790 at St James Tong to father John Lane.
A chap called Arthur Blackburn recorded MI's for lots of Bradford cemeteries in the 1920/30's (Blackburn registers). If you have a date and write to Bradford library they might find a burial for your Henry or even a MI.
Bierley cemetery on Tong Street might be a good bet.

Please note that we have not yet completed the Tong Parish Records. Still missing are:

1651-1700 baptisms
1839-1877 marriages
1841- onwards baptisms and burials

All records for the period 1554-1569 are lost.

There is an excellent CD available from a Sam Greenhough about Tong with 5000 images. It also carries some of the church records but these are badly corrupted; the baptisms before 1800 for example, have had the names shuffled so that that they don't match the surnames, rendering the whole section useless.
