Do you wonder who your ancestors were? Maybe you have looked "online" but are not sure what to do, where to look or what to look for? Buckinghamshire Family History Society in conjunction with the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies will be holding a beginners day at the CBS on Saturday 20th March 2010.

The day will be made up of presentations and opportunities to ask for advice and guidance. There will be people available from both ourselves and from the CBS to answer questions. Between us we have many many years of experience in Family History research.

You don't need to have Buckinghamshire ancestors to attend, the information available also applies beyond our county borders. Anyway just because you don't know of any Bucks ancestors doesn't mean they arn't hiding and waiting to be discovered!!

The presentations will be on:
* Starting your family history
* Using computers for your family history research
* Using 20th Century records
* Records and facilities available at the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies

So maybe you have watched "Who Do You Think You Are" and wonder how they trace back through the generations or you have heard the stories Great Aunt Lucy used to tell and wonder if they are true or not? If so then put the date in your diary - Saturday March 20th. Doors open at 09:30 for 10am start at the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies, finish by 4pm.

Location of the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies

Please note that "doing your family history" can become quite addictive and Bucks FHS accepts no responsibility should you catch the family history bug  ;D
Promoting the study of family history, genealogy, heraldry, local history and other associated subjects with particular reference to the County of Buckinghamshire, promoting the preservation, security and accessibility of archival materials and promoting educational activities since 1977.
