i am Looking for....

Charles Henry Morton b 1881 Leeds, Parents John and Martha Morton.

i can not find his birth entry at all. i can find an 1886 one, but he is listed on the 1881 census ??

i have also found his service records stating 1881 but no birth entry

according to the 1881 census he was 11mths old, but i have tried and searched ancestry and free BDM, and IGI but can not find any birth? i have found his army service papers and they have it as Leeds 1881

No - that is the ref for the 1881 census entry.

I do wonder about this birth -

because the birth above on the same page is a child with surname Lawson, ans I wonder if the indexer was writing Morton and got confused!
