19C-You have 2 other Burton photos with identical backs to this both dated by me at around mid 1860's.so possibly related to that family If that helps.Burton cardstyles changed by 1870.

19A-late 1860's

So not 1871, wot I had thought ?

19b-early-mid 1870's
Henry Maull became Maull & Co. 1871 so not before that date.

Thank you.

Agree father & son.

I guess that decides it !

Thank you.

It's a possibility but with the invention of new lenses at the end of the 60's photographers were able to close in on the sitter giving a 3/4 length photo instead of this full length pose but you do see one or two early 70's photos in this style.

Is "anything known" about the studio, the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company ?

And here is 19D, of Charles Page, as I now know from the inscription in the Album itself.

If that is correct, of course !

Philippa le Hardy (a newly-discovered remote cousin of said Charles) writes, after I sent her to this WebPage:-
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As regards 19D about which you asked 'which Charles?' I think the answer is almost certainly Charles Lindsey Page assuming that your correspondent is correct that Sims the photographers were only at Westbourne Grove between 1861-3.

1. The photo is of a young man. Charles Lindsey Page was about 21 in 1861. His father Charles Reynolds Page would have been 52 and his son Charles Arnold Lindsey Page not born.

2. In 1861 he was living at 3 Garway Rd. which is off Westbourne Grove so close proximity.

3. He got married in 1863 so quite likely to have cause to have his photo taken around that time.
