Hello Rowena,

Ada isn't showing up on the 1880 US Census I'm afraid.  There is no 1890 census, most of it was destroyed by fire.  Can't see her on incoming passnger list up until 1901. UK incoming does'nt start until 1878 so if she came back earlier she would'nt show there either.  The link below might help you search ???

I dont im afraid
Her parents are Harriet Morton and Alfred George Craven

Both are missing from English 1951 census although Harriet is showing with Ada on 1861 Census and then Ada appears on 1871 census living with grandmother.

i have Harriet Mortons parents and siblings no problem and non of them have gone to USA.
hope this helps

Gosh, I can see your having a nightmare with this. Harriet marries and then disappears off the 1851 UK census. Ada probably never knew her father because her mother is widowed by 1861. Harriet disappears (either remarried or dies) and Ada is with grandmother. Then presumably grandmother died and Ada went off to the USA.  ???

yes quite right, although i am aware that alot of 1851 yorkshire census's were waterlogged so some are missing, presuming Harriet's is one of them.  ::) this one is a little stickler lol

thankx anyway for your help
