Memorial Inscription for Benjamin and Elizabeth Symes
« on: Tuesday 09 March 10 14:19 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone please find out for me where Ben and Eliz Symes, and their daughter, Elizabeth Rippon, are buried?
Benjamin [b. 1817, Bridport, Dorset; d. 8 Dec 1900, Peel St, Hull] was a shoemaker. His wife, Elizabeth [nee Cousins; b. 1 Feb 1820, Bridport; d. ONDec 1904., Peel St. Hull].
Their daughter, Elizabeth [b. JFMarch 1860, Sculcoates; d. 22 Nov 1943, Peel St. Hull] married William John Rippon [b. JASept 1899, Hull; d. JFMarch 1913, Hull] on 24 Aug 1882 at Sculcoates Parish Church.
Her Will requests 'a tombstone in black granite with suitable lettering in old English similar to that of my Mother and Father.'  She also left a bequest to the Pearson Park Veterans Society.  Her brothers [2 of whom had a rope and twine business in Queen St.] and her husband predeceased her.
I am keen to find out in which churchyard/cemetery in Hull these tombstones are.
