« on: Wednesday 10 March 10 11:08 GMT (UK) »
Hullo,
could someone please tell me where abouts a death at st. Marys Hospital Paddington c.1900 be
recorded, and where the burial would likely to be?

Hi

Your title is rather confusing, as the London Hospital and St Mary's, Paddington are entirely separate entities on opposite sides of the metropolis.

A death at St Mary's in about 1900 would have been registered in Paddington registration district, which came into existence in 1895.  You can search for such a death at www.freebmd.org.uk.

London burials are a tricky business.  There's a detailed post/thread on them here: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,403485.0.html

 :) Thanks Anna,

I did mean St. Marys at Paddington,  I`m in  Australia and a bit new to this,

I find most things about London confusing; places, parishes, bouroughs, etc.

- but I reckon by the time I `ve finished with the dead rels, I should know my way around !!

Thank you for the info.

I think there is more than 1 hospital called St Marys but run together

St Marys Praed St
and
St Marys at Lock Bridge which is in Harrow Road Paddington
also
Paddington Children's hospital which is Paddington Green

As always I stand to be corrected

i think the one in Praed streed is the Samaritan Womens hospital with the Western Opthalmic hospital next door.At least it was in the 40's when I had my eye op and in the 50s/60s when my Mum had an op at the womens. Think they are attached to St Marys but could be wrong. Was also a patient at Paddington Green Childrens hospital in the 50s
