Have checked Lincolnshire map and Sarah was probably born in Hykeham, Lincolnshire.

I found out yesterday Samuel and Sarah's marriage date. It was in 1840. I have the actual date but I don't have my notebook with me right now.

The 1840 marriage gives a clue for where to look for them in 1841. This census was taken in June 1841. As they were married in the Lincoln reg district 6 months or so before the census (Dec qtr 1840) I thought I would look in this area for them.

Perhaps this could be them, although Samuel's occupation is different to the 1851 census. Perhaps he was a baker when he was young, then trained as a stone mason. For the 1841 census ages above 15 were supposed to be rounded down to the nearest 5 years, so anyone between 20 and 24 should have been recorded as 20. All of the adults on this page have had their ages rounded down as they all have ages ending with a 5 or a 0. This would account for their ages being recorded as 20.

Samuel Wilkinson, 20, Baker
Sarah ditto, 20

The registration district for this one is Lincoln. They were living in Washingborough.

Ref: Class: HO107 Piece: 624 Book: 3 District: 16 Folio: 6 Page: 5

Do you think this could be them?

Thank you so much. I don't know if Samuel Wilkinson was 33 in 1851. I very much appreciate the update.
I've been searching for information about Samuel and Sarah for about 5 years but every time I think I'm close I hit a dead end and have to begin again. Thanks so much Angela.

I definitely believe this is the right Samuel and Sarah. Thank you so much for your consideration to look up the information in not only the 1851 census but also the 1841 census. :D According to what I've found out Samuel and Sarah were married in the Washinborough Parish on 12 Nov, 1840. The age of John matches up with the date he was born as well so I'm pretty sure you've uncovered the information I've been looking for. Once again, Thank you so much!
