Ernest & Clarence hall
« on: Monday 15 March 10 10:48 GMT (UK) »
hello :D

I am trying to find  a military record of Ernest Hall and his brother Clarence

Ernest born 1895 Felkirk, Shafton, barnsley, Yorkshire West riding
he definitely served as he was gassed but didn't die in war.

His brother Clarence born 1900 also served and according to his niece he lied about his age to get in.

I have tried to look online in National archives, but got lost! >:(

Could someone please help me find a trace of them  ;D

Father's name? George Ewart Hall by any chance?
Address on joining up? 14 Hilton Terrace, New Brighton, Morley?

That was the only Clarence I found born at around 1900, I'm afraid.

You should be searching on Ancestry, as they have surviving WW1 records online. All the NA site have are the medal index cards and there were 379 Ernest Halls awarded medals and 20 Clarence Halls.

You will have to find either a Service Record or Pensions file on Ancestry that matches the address and age details you have. If you have an address for the family c1918 you could also try and find Ernest on the electoral roll as often details of a soldier's regiment and number were given.
