ORPIN Family - Bromham

I'm looking for a Lucy Orpin in 1851, born in Bromham. I have found her in 1861, a 19 yr old servant, in the village of Carlton. I believe that her parents may have been George and Sarah (Keech), but cannot find a suitable Orpin family in 1851 in Beds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think she is at Bromham but copy is poor

There are 2 submitted IGI entries for that name

I have found her in 1861, a 19 yr old servant

One shows her as b 1831 Bromham parents George & Sarah-  which would mean she was 29 in 1861 - not 19.  The other shows her married to James Rowney in 1860

Is this the same person?

Yes, mistake between brain and keyboard; Lucy was 19 in 1851, not 1861.
She was married to James Rowney, so I will have to send for their marriage certificate.
Thanks for the 1841 lead, but I would still like to find the family in 1851.

That info should enable you to find the family in 1851 - indexed as ORPIN

Do you know if they married in Bromham ?  The GRO index is Sept qtr 1860 Bedford RD. I could check the parish records at Archives on Wednesday.

1861 has them living in Stevington and first child of their marriage was born there

Lucy had an illegitimate son Arthur ORPIN in Bromham who is aged 3 on the 1861

I've located the family in 1851 now, with your help, thank you. What was misleading me was that I thought that George's wife was named Sarah, whereas she is recorded as Mary in 1841 & 1851.
If Mary's age is correct in 1851 (37) she would have been only 15 when she gave birth to Elizabeth, so very young.

To John, I assume that they married in Bromham, as that appears to be Lucy's home parish, and thank you for your kind offer.
