Can anyone advise me on where to get any info on mariners during the 1860's onwards? I have written to Southamton Archives for a search on three ancestors, but things aren't looking too good.

Just a thought..

go to http://catalogue.pro.gov.uk/

click on guided search.............

type in "service records" and press go.

Now the hard work starts   ;)
