Sir John Jackson - Civil Engineer.

On-going research into my family's history is now focused on the civil engineering company who were contracted to build the docks in Simons Town (Sir John Jackson of London)

Has anyone on this Forum ever researched this company and, perhap, gleaned facts other than can be obtained by simply "Googling" the name, that they may be prepared to share?

It is John Jackson's direct (for me, highly significant) connection with Devonport (in England) which prompts my question.

Many thanks.
Peter ('Geraldo')

Hi Peter

There is a new book about to be released on the docks in Simonstown.
Speak to Andre Wessels * , he works at the SA Navy Museum.
He is willing to speak to the author to see if he can help.

Greetings
Eugene

Hi Eugene

How kind of you to pass-on this fascinating line of enquiry - which of course I will follow up straight away.

I had almost given-up getting any further with this particular line of enquiry.

Thank you so much.

Peter

Could you please tell me the title and author of that book, as I would be very interested in looking at it, as I believe one of my family was an architect who designed the Selbourne Dock in Simonstown. Many thanks
