Hi Obwan
I found your information regarding Scotlands People not having ALL the information that you hold
certificates for,  VERY interesting.

I have been searching for info for Renfrewshire Paisley for some time now but assumed that if SP
didn't have it - well it didn't exist.   So you have given me new hope - now I have to find out where
in Paisley I can see Church records.    Any information would be a BIG help.

Thanks!

Hi

SP pre 1855 only holds Church of Scotland and Catholic records. However about 65% of Paisley folks (aka Paisley Buddies - am one meself tho don't live there now) were non conformists so far as church was concerned and therefore records not on Scotland's People.

Only way to find if not  on SPs for that pre 1855 period is Kirk Session records which so far are not online (They've been promised for very long time but alas not yet). These are held in the National Archives for Scotland in Edinburgh (is right next door to SP building in Edinburgh)..

The records are NOT held in Paisley. the High Church was non- conformist.
