Debenham Banns - BUCKENHAM 1681

I have only just become aware that there are Marriage Banns extant for Debenham around the time my Brickwall was married.

Could anyone please help me by looking for the Banns for Robert Buckenham and Rose Goodlad. married July 3 in 1681?

You're right - I'll try Suzy direct, though I feel I've bothered her too much with my quest for Robert already.

it did cross my mind it might be you researching Buckenham sorry about that.

Suzy did a few look ups for me Garrods and put them on line for me to search she is a diamond.

Suffolk does not have much on Freereg and when Ive finished my Somerset transcriptions I want to do Suffolk, perhaps if you have time you could do the same, just a thought.

Hi Lewis,

There are no Banns for Debenham 1676-1684. I've looked up the fiche and the items are "Briefs" which seem to be lists of donations to the church for those years. I guess the SRO archivists didn't want to put another column into the register listing and so put the "Briefs" in the "Banns" column (which didn't have anything in it at that time).

The post-Commonwealth marriage entries are a mess. The parish seems to have been determined NOT to buy a new register and the marriages are entered wherever there is a gap on a page. I've been trying to build an index of the fiche contents, and I haven't found any entries for 1681 yet.
