(Hants) 1841/1851 Census Lookup Requests Please For Jane Rossiter

Hi,

I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents, grandparents, siblings and children of Jane Rossiter who married William Huser on June 7th 1834 at Bentworth.

Any information would be greatly appreciated please.TIA.

Hmm....can't find any children born to the couple, or William Huser's baptism.  Any census info at all?

It was something of a long shot as the only information I have is from the IGI which I posted.

Are there any other Rossiters in that area please? They may be related.

There is an Ann Rossiter baptised in Bentworth 12 May 1811, parents Richard & Hannah.  They also had Mary (10 Aug 1806 in Medstead), James (18 Sep 1808), Harriett (25 Jul 1813), Sarah (30 Jun 1816), William (14 March 1819) Martha (26 Aug 1821) and Richard (2 Sep 1827). 

Richard Rossiter married Hannah Oliver in Bentworth 24 March 1806.

And curiously, there is an Eliza baptised 4 May 1834 in Bentworth, mother only listed: Jane.  Didn't spot that one last night.

Many thanks for that.

I recognise the family but I did not have all the children which you listed.

Harriet married William Phillips ( born circa 1806 in Bentworth) in 1835 in Bentworth-St Lawrence.

I'm just wonder if Jane was an older daughter of Richard's.It's possible that Eliza could be a pre-marital child of Jane & William Huser.

Another possibility is that Jane is a younger sister of Richard's born say 1800.

The obvious one is that they are not related at all!! LOL!! Mind you there cannot be that many Rossiters born in Bentworth.

Unless Richard was a widower when he married Hannah (no indication that he was), then I can't see how Jane was an elder daughter of his.  And I can find no baptism of a Jane Rossiter or similar in Bentworth at all.

Wonder who she was?

I was thinking that maybe Jane was born about 1809/10 possibly at Medstead, Bentworth - St Lawrence  or another village close to Bentworth.

This would allow her to be old enough to marry by 1834.
