Wingham Family of Warblington Emsworth area
« on: Wednesday 24 March 10 08:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi Folks

I am trying to locate details of birth and parents of a John Wingham who married Sarah Miller on 05 Jun 1776 at Warblington, Hampshire, England according to the IGI and confirmed by the Hampshire Genealogical Society Marriage Index.

Any help to clarify John Wingham's date and place of birth and parents would be gratefully appreciated.

Best Wishes

Richard

Do you know when John died?  After 1813?  Might help to know a rough age for working backwards.

I can only see one definite child born to John and Sarah.

Hi Nell

From the Hampshire Genealogical Society Baptism index which I have on CD Rom I can see that John Wingham and Sarah Miller had 7 children Sarah, Ann, John, Elizabeth (who I believe was also known as Nancy),  Richard, Frances, Mary, all born in Warblington between 1777 and 1790, where John and Sarah were married. Sarah is sometimes spelled Saray and may have been incorrectly noted on one baptism as Mary.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a death in the Burial Index CD Rom which I also have.

Regards

Richard
