1896 Louth marriage COMPLETED THANKS TO TRESSLE
« on: Wednesday 24 March 10 15:05 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have access to Louth Parish registers for a marriage in Sep 14/ of 1896?

It is between Joseph Samuel ARMSTRONG and Kate May Plumtree.

Her family is easy to find  ;D but I would very much like to know who Joseph's dad was please.

They seem to be around North Thoresby in 1891(indexed as Plumtrce),so maybe that's where the marriage took place.

This is my first foray into research in Lincs,so I have no idea what records any of you good people hold  ;D

Many thanks

Carol

He must be this one ... aged 41, born in Nottinghamshire, living in Louth district (in 1911 index)

Births Sep 1869
ARMSTRONG    Joseph Samuel        Mansfield    7b   53

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Yep spot on Geoff that's him exactly  ;D

But I'm doing this tree for a friend of a friend and cannot afford to start buying certs.

He's only obvious in censuses 1891 and 1901 and there is a very slightly possible Samuel Armstrong(using his middle name) age 2 in 1871.

Other than that I can't see him with parents anywhere.

Was just hoping that someone had access to the marriage records really.

Thanks anyway,

Carol

Carol

I am going to Lincoln Archives on Friday, I won't have a lot of time spare but I can have a look around if you like.  I can certainly check North Thoresby.

OOoo Tressle that would be fabulous please.

All I need is, who Joseph's dad was and the witnesses (if they were Armstrong's)

Oh and the date would be good thanks.

Many thanks for that,

Regards

Carol

Tressle,

Have just seen that you have Northants ancestors, shout if you want any help here. I'm the opposite side of the county to the record office but do go there occasionally.

In fact I'm nearer to the Beds record office actually  ;D

Hi Carol

Thank you for that kind offer.  I love Bedford Record Office but I only get down there once in a blue moon.

My father was born in Kettering so I have been to Northants record office about 4 times in the past.

I have got the details written down now and in my notebook in my handbag all ready for Friday.

Tressle :)
