Dating and Restoring please!

This photograph is marked 'Uncle Duncan', but there are two people who might fit the description.

Could anyone give me a clue as to when this might have been taken and hazard a guess at the gentleman's age.

It is a photograph of the original, which has printed on the back -

Davis, 16, Princes Street, Edinburgh - 52 West Nile Street, Glasgow.

It's not in need of major restoration but would benefit from being tidied up if any talented restorer fancied tackling it for me.

No-one has had a shot at his age yet, so I'd say around 30 ?   


But as for the date ... that's for someone else to say !
