SHARP/E -Blankney. Circa 1818 +
« on: Friday 26 March 10 00:01 GMT (UK) »
Again I'm in need of some help..with my " Sharp/e " Family... I looking for a Marriage between William Sharp/e and Ann ( could be Hannah) Circa 1818 + the lived around the Blankney area where they all of their children Baptised @ St. Oswald... I even had a look at the Christian names for Ann/Hannah & Surname of Taylor.... as this name appears in on one of their children Baptism and that is unusual for the " Sharp/e Family Names......The following information is all I know..

1.Charles son of William & Ann Sharpe Baptised 28-03-1819 @ Blankney.
2.John Taylor son of William & Ann Baptised 12-11-1820 @ Blankney
3.Helen daughter of William & Ann Baptised 12-06-1822 @ Blankney
4.William son of William & Ann Baptised 11-01-1824 @ Blankney
5 George son of William & Ann Baptised 15-10-1825 @ Blankney.

My William  (b) 1794was the son of John Sharp & Mary Sharp/e ( nee Peck) and William married an Ann   ?????  from Gosberton.

From the Lincolnshire Archives there is a family whom I think could be part of my research but !!! I cannot find a Marriage anywhere... Have searched my CD  Lincolnshire Marriage Index 1700-1837- also the Family Search & IGI,, to no avail... Can anyone help me with this please... I may be searching the wrong family.. but almost all of my Sharp/e line came from around Pelham Lands, Blankney, Pinchbeck, Spalding, Welbourn.

Thank you for your patience.

You forgot about son Arthur bap 1830 at Weston (Notts) ;) found in 1851
and leading to
Lumley Hauldsworth 1832
Jane 1834

In fact, the whole family were in Weston in 1841 :)

Have you dismissed the 16 Aug 1826 marriage at Blankney?

Hello Geoff..

Thank you so much for your reply.

I saw a son named Arthur Bap 1830 @ Weston Notts and also Ellen Bap Circa 1826 @ Blankney...but I thought this may not be part of my "Sharp/e Family"  I was given unsourced info that my William Bapt Circa 1794 @ Sth Kyme Lincs. married Ann ?? from Gosberton.. So I have been trying to research this information...

I did not see a marriage in 1826 in Blankney,.. besides Geoff the first child Charles was Bap in 1819 @ Blankney.. ( see my post).. Hmmm!!!  So I have been looking at Marriages from about 1817 +..... As all of their children were Baptised in St. Oswald Anglican Church. one would assume ( I know you should not do that ) but I would have thought William and Ann ?? whomever would have married before having all of these children... There are so many William Sharp/e's married in Lincolnshire but no " Ann"- "Hannah" can't even find Taylor???

This Marriage to Ann has me really stumped.. what is Ann's maiden name.. and where did they marry ?.. I would love to purchase a copy of the Parish register but am not sure where to look...What Deanery would Gosberton be in ?.. The Cd that I have does not cover that area...

I simply have run out of ideas of where to look.. I do hope that you may be able to help me .

Sincerely

Faysie

Arthur was with them in the 1851 census ... his baptism location leads to the family in Weston in 1841, including the children you named (all born NOT in Notts).

1841
Weston, Notts
William SHARP 45 Farmer & ??
Ann 45
John 20 Medical Student
Ellen 19
George 15
Mary Ann 14
Arthur 11
Lumley 8
Jane 6
Last 3 (only) born in Notts
plus 6 servants

1851 gives birthplace for Will and Ann as Kime and Gosberton

Re TAYLOR ... there were two Ann TAYLORs bap Gosberton 1794 (died) and 1796.

SORRY!!!!!!!! I don't know how I missed it - I suppose I was lust looking at Blankney  ::)

1793 Gosberton
John TAYLOR to Ann PETCHELL (wid)

and perhaps
1781 Gosberton
Thomas PETCHEL to Ann JACKSON (kids bap up to 1791)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Sincere appreciation.
