Help with marriage.
« on: Friday 26 March 10 16:17 GMT (UK) »
I have hit a brick wall for a  marriage  between John Clark and Hannah Jackson,it stopping me research the Jackson side of the family.John i believe was born about 1819 in Castle Eden.and Hannah in Ripon about 1827.

I first find them in a 1851 census in Glasgow, with one daughter Sarah born in England age 2.and a son Henry born in Glasgow age1. I can then track them
until they die.Hannah in 1905 and John in 1885 in Easington.

I looks as if they moved to Scotland about 1850 from England, stayed on for a number of years.I can can find them on the 1861.1871 in Glasgow. It then looks as if are back in Durham in 1881.i can find them on there own in Shotton.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help looking into this one,it has been a puzzle to me for over a year. From the records i got from Scotlands People, Hannah's maiden name shows as Jackson many times on records.
ie = her children born Scotland, there marriages etc.

On the census records in Scotland 1851,1861,and 1871 it shown as born in England. But in the 1881 and 1891 census she is shown born in Ripon. In the 1901 census she is shown born Kipan.Which i suppose could be Ripon.

Thanks
