Rebecca Scofield c1814 Dagenham, Essex
« on: Monday 29 March 10 20:37 BST (UK) »
Hi, can anyone help. I am trying to find the parents of Rebecca Scofield born around 1814 in Dagenham, Essex.  She married my great great great grandfather John White b1804 d1861 at St. Annes, Limehouse.  They lived in Barking until John died and Rebecca moved in with her daughter to Manor Park, East London.

Thanks
Jackie White

Hello Jackie and welcome :)

When did Rebecca marry John?  If on or after 1 July 1837, have you obtained their marriage certificate in order to ascertain the name and occupation of Rebecca's father?

Hi Anna

They married on 25 April 1831 Limehouse St Anne, London.  She was born around 1812.  All censuses apart from 1 show her as being born in Dagenham, the 1 showing Barking.  I have searched for hours on SEAX for St. Margarets Church, Barking, (in case baptised there) but cannot find her.

I have her death certificate showing she died on 9 Dec 1896 - aged 84 in Upton Park, London.

Best wishes
Jackie  :)

Hi Ricky

Yes that is my tree.  I have found Thomas and Mary on the Dagenham register and put them in, to see if I can find any relevant links.

I purchased St Peter & St. Paul cd of records and found them on there, but there is no record for Rebecca

They are only there temporarily until I can find the information I require and to see if any information comes up on Ancestry.
