R I Co. Donegal????

Found a family record and I am trying to decipher what it says.

To me it looks like 'R I Co. Donegal'

Is there such a place in Donegal Ireland?  I'm from US and have no idea.

The family name is Roper.

Hi mmbutts.I have had a look around the internet,but the only references I am finding to R I ,are as part of house,pubs or holiday villages.ie "Cuan Na Ri Holiday Village, Carrigart, Co. Donegal"

I am sure some one more knowledge able than me will soon read your post and be able to help with a better explanation.

The surname Roper in Donegal is concentrated in Drumhome and Kilbarron parishes

Unless it's a reasonably recent document I doubt if it refers to the Republic of Ireland. Most older documents would say Irish Free State or simply Ireland. Could you scan in that portion of the document & somebody might be able to decipher it for you?
"Rí" as referred to by Tabbitha is the Irish word for king and does appear in place names but only as part of a longer name such as Cuan na Rí (Harbour of the Kings) & not as two capitals.
