Thompson Family
« on: Thursday 01 April 10 12:39 BST (UK) »
I am in need of some help, with a struggle I have managed to trace back to my great *3 grandfather Arthur Thompson.

The problem is I don't have a Date Of Birth or Date Of Death.  Also I don't know who he married.

The only bit of useful info I have is his son my great *2 grandfather was called John Haynes Thompson born abt 1861 and  died abt 1928 Shankill Belfast City, Co. Antrim.  Hayes may be his mums maiden name but not 100% sure.

I would be grateful if someone could help with solving this problem.

Dave

Hi,
Birth registration started in Ireland in 1864. A parent search on the IGI section of www.familysearch.org gives the following:-
1865 George Maxwell Thompson
1868 Mary Ann Thompson
1870 Susan Thompson
1873 William Curry Thompson

Hi.
Had a check on UHF for the father's names of Arthur and Rebecca on kingerskerswell's posting.
Arthur's father was Arthur, and Rebecca's father was John.
You can get the marriage details from  www.ancestryireland.com
I think it's £4 for non members.
Antrim.  Campbell, Carson,Dickson, Gilmore, Creaney
Down.    Dickson, Fairley, Irvine, McCune, Carlisle,
               Wilson, Quinn

Hi,
To find your GGgrandfather's birth you will need to find a baptism and for that you need to know which church. May Street Presbyterian Church would be a start.
