« on: Friday 02 April 10 01:30 BST (UK) »
g 'day from oz, to Wales. I am new to this ite but already i have added some little posts under surnames etc, presumably i can ADD as much as i like anywhere in different segments?? [not so sure of this idea if it is oz or not? My research takes me to Walter JENKINS of  born 1767, d, 1838 also  his son Walter bor1800 d 1854. so far i believe that these 2 Walter's were definately born in Cwmcarn[ MNMTHSHRE]  but i would like to find out if they died there and were buried there? One of the Walter Jenkins b, 1767 married Elizabeth ALLEN,c, 1796  It seems  that her mothers name was 'Susan' KENNETT.Also i would like to ADD names of this particular line, like i see on other pages/posts/  but i do not yet know how to ADD them after a bit of brousing around here, anyone who can point me in the right direction for adding more names like i see on the other boards  i would be so gratefull if you can help, best wishes to all members here from WELSH WOMAN IN OZ   ps cannot put funny little faces [icons on either] hmmnnn...

Hi Diane

You're doing fine so far!

I'll move this thread to the Monmouthshire board and we'll see whether anyone can help you with the JENKINS burials.

Sending you a PM about some of the ways of using Rootschat.

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Do you mean Cwmcarn or Cwmcarvan? Cwmcarn wasn't a separate parish until 1922, formed out of Mynyddislwyn & Risca.

There is a transcribed baptism for a Walter Jenkins in Cwmcarvan 13/2/1800 son of Walter & Elizabeth which also appears in extracted batch C023672 for Cwmcarvan. You'll need to search by batch number and then first names of parents without the surname, as the baptisms have been indexed as if they were patronymic, when they're not. Several siblings for Walter including Susanna bp 20/9/1807.

Walter senior's baptism is in the same batch 11/1/1767 son of Walter & Susan(na)

marriages for Cwmcarvan on the IGI start in 1813. Haven't spotted Walter's first, but his second is there 5/12/1843 to Anne Hardwick Marfell

oops - ignore what I said about second marriage. I assumed ( very bad ) that the children living with him in 1841 were his and I don't think they are. His marriage looks to say bachelor. The Walter from 1841 could be the son of his brother James.

Elizabeth, wife of Walter, was buried 16/12/1838 aged 73

Hello again Ospry, well since i recieved your help, i have found this thank you.  A Susan[na, [or similar] Susan Kennet, born 1725, d, 1806 [states here] married a Walter Jenkins who was born 1725 d, 1803. This cert copy i checked b m d, and i thank you for your help.                         Trying now to find out if this Susan Kennetts mother was Euphimia Graves? and her father Martin?          I have read a few hours this morning to find someone was searching for a King family... i have thought that my names above could perhaps run into the names of King, and Covington, as well, but before i can help anyone else i need to be certain of the Susan Kennet  [parents]  as i am not even certain iof they were born in Monmouthshire or not now? Any further help on these maters would naturally be so appreciated where possible, many god wishes, thanking you, Diane Wan, [Di]

the marriage of Walter Jenkins to Susannah Kennet was in Penrhos 6/6/1756

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~monfamilies/penrhosprt.htm

and a possible baptism in Penrhos for Susannah 1/2/1725/6, daughter of William.
Before 1752, the new year began on 25/3, so a date of February 1725, is a year most recent than it appears to be.

http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library/article.aspx?article=3358

You're getting to the edge of availability of parish records for Penrhos, eariler ones are lost.
