can anyone help please? Blackwell nun?
« on: Sunday 04 April 10 11:46 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I ws wondering if anyone could offer me any tips/suggestions please.

Nancy Blackwell born 5 August 1897 at Leamington Warwickshire

(never married)  & died at Pittville Lawn Nursing Home Cheltenham Glouc 1992.

on her death certificate her occupation is unreadable but it has come to our knowledge that her bible had been found and a descendant thought she was a nun.

Does anyone know of any convents in the area that she may of been a part of?    I just dont know how to go about finding anymore information about her.

Thank you  :)

Hi Aston

The Convent in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, was run by the sisters of La Sainte Union.  The Poor Sisters of Nazareth run an old people's home, also in Charlton Kings.  A little further away in Leyesbourne the Sisters of Charity of St Paul have a convent.

If you Google "Cheltenham convents" you'll find addresses and contact detail for these.

on her death certificate her occupation is unreadable .........

Post the unreadable portion (not the whole certificate) on the deciphering board, someone may be able to read it  :)
