Hairini Cemetery, near Te Awamutu? *COMPLETED*
« on: Tuesday 13 April 10 04:23 BST (UK) »
I'm not quite sure of the exact location, but is there someone 'out there' close to Hairini who would be willing to take a grave photo for me?  I know for sure that my ancester - Walter Paul, who died on 25 Oct 1906, aged 14 mos was buried at Hairini.  Quite possibly Walter's twin brothers (stillborn), named Duncan and Allan Paul are also buried there?  Duncan and Allan Paul died on 5 July 1900.

I volunteer to take grave photos in ChCh (a link to my email address can be found on Beverley Evan's site) and I currently have over 4000 photos at Ruru Cemetery on my hard-drive, so I would be happy to photograph anything down here in exchange. :D

Many thanks for the reference numbers ... I appreciate that.  I know that if I am able to find someone in the area who wouldn't mind photographing the grave for me, it would certainly help them to have the plot number, etc.

Let me know if there's anything I can help you out with in ChCh.

good map location
Maybe worth emailing the NZSG Te A branch, they may have taken cem photos, or should have someone who does
There are people on list from Hamilton but not sure if any from outskirts..

If you haven't had any luck with the Te Awamutu NZSG ,I am willing to go and have a look for you in the not too distant future,as a thankyou for all the help I have had from rootschatters.
Shame it wasn't the Catholic Cemetery - I have photographed all the remaining graves there over the last year or two. I have walked round St Paul's Churchyard and some of the inscriptions are very hard to read, but will do my best :)

Barbara, many thanks for your offer.  I hate asking other people for help, but on this occasion, I would love a photo.  There is absolutely no rush for this so only go when the time is good for you.  I know exactly what you mean about no guarantee about the state of the MI - I have the same problem here in ChCh when I photograph graves for people.  Speaking of that, I head to Ruru, Linwood, Bromley, Memorial Park at least once per week, so if you ever have a grave you want photographed, please contact me.
