hi.
have found my great grandfather in every available census except 1891 & 1901. could anyone help. He is John James Wright, 1864-1911. Born shropshire. 1871 & 1881 he is in Lancashire. He marries in Cardiff and in 1911 he is still in cardiff. He was in the Navy/Merchant Navy as an engineer.
Any help appreciated.

That could be the reason you can't find him - he may have been at sea

I have so many people either captain of, or working on, ships.

Just "really lucky", if they happen to be at a UK harbour that night ;)

Hi Gareth

I sent you a pm a while age but have not received a reply so either
you didn't get it or your reply didn't reach me.

In 1891, John James Wright is with his older sister Elizabeth and brother William at 4 Camm St, Toxteth Park, Liverpool.
Elizabeth is described as Dau, and there is no head of household.
This is because their mother Elizabeth was visiting another son that
census night.

There is also a boarder and a grandson, Ernest Thompson.
Have you come across Ernest Thompson in your research?
I'd like to see where he fits in because I am also researching
this Wright family.

Do you have any old Wright family photos?
It would be interesting to see if there are any family likeness.
