Private Edward ROBLEY - Sydney, NSW; Launceston Tasmania & Ceylon, & back to UK

Dont know if this is the correct place to put this.

I have Edward Robley, British Soldier ranked Private, in Sydney in 1810, transferred to Launceston, Tasmania in 1812, and  then to Ceylon 1814. His regiment was the 73rd (Regiment of Foot?)

He married in Northumberland England in 1819.

How can I find out more about him?

Musters and paylists are available on microfilm in Australia, but they wouldn't tell you much more than you already know about his time here.  Have a look here at info on researching British soldiers

You also noted that he went to Launceston, perhaps the child & mother went with him but didn't return to the UK as there is this marriage that could match the birth above (there isn't a birth registered for her in TAS).

Thanks for that. I had looked in BMD records, but didn't think to change spelling.
And the Isabella Leonora Robley is his daughter. Elizabeth got involved with another convict in Tasmania (she was a convict) name William Field (he is my ancestor) and they had other children, but did not marry I don't think. Edward eventually went back to UK and married in Northumberland in 1819.
