Jacob Salkeld

I am new to this site and hope there may be somebody who can help.

Jacob Salked was born c1814 in Longtown. I can not find his birth anywhere. I think his father was Thomas Salked (again not confirmed).

I can not find him anywhere in the 1841 census (have him in all the others though).

Hope someone can shed some light and point me in the right direction. I have all other info on him (marriages and children etc).

Whom was he with and where in say, 1851?

When & where did his marriage(s) take place?

iN 51 looks like hes with wife Mable son Stewart 2 and dau Marry Ann 8 b Bishop Auckland address Greenside Durham

In 1851 he is in Rhyton Woodside, Durham living with his second wife Mabel and many other Salkelds. Head of the family is Wilson (whom I think is probably his brother).

None of them by his second wife Mabel. Jacob had another son in 1835 (David) with his first wife Isabella but can not find him either.

Hi all,

Sorry, this isn't going to be much help - can't find Jacob under either name in 1841 - but just thought I'd mention that there's a criminal register for a Jacob mentioning an alias. 

26 Jun 1843 Durham
Jacob Salkeld also Saville, Degree of instruction Imp, age 26, larceny, before convicted of felony - sentence 12 months

Not sure whether this is the previous conviction:
5 Jul 1839 Northumberland
Jacob Saville, Degree of instruction N, age 23, Larceny - sentence 6 months
