Ward/Pegg married 1914
« on: Tuesday 20 April 10 10:50 BST (UK) »
Hello,      I have this couple Albert Edward Ward and Elizabeth M Pegg who married in Aylsham in 1914.     I cannot find either in the 1901 and 1891 census when they were still single.

Can you have a look in the 1911 census to see if they're there?    The Wards were quite prolific in Norfolk but none of them seem to match.    The two were in London by 1918.

Thank you,

Rossolad

Hi Rossolad

what do you know about Elizabeth and Albert?
do you have their marriage certificate?
this will show you their ages and fathers name and hopefully we can locate them in earlier census
also it helps with the occupation, whilst some changed their occupation as often as thier socks the father may have been in more regular employment or trade such as a butcher  :)

Hello Toni,

The marriage certificate has become 'mislaid' but memories survive, thus Edward as second name, age no recollection, he was a foreman ganger, whatever that is and Albert E's address was 23 Holly Bush Road, Barnet.
sorry there isn't more!

Just had a thought, if l could find his death it may give his age and so work out his birthdate, I'll give that a go.

Thank you

Ray

a foreman ganger would presumably be a foreman of a gang  :)

you would assume they didnt marry before the age of 21 so the latest birth date would be circa 1893

it is dangerous to assume anything in this game - can send you completely on the wrong track

but i keep finding this Albert Edward

 Albert Edward Ward
Birth:  3 Sep 1893
Death:  Wisbech, Norfolk, England Q3 1973
does that tie in with what you know ?

and birth ?
 Albert Edward Ward
1893  Q3
: Freebridge Lynn  Norfolk
 4b 317
