LDS films
« on: Wednesday 21 April 10 10:05 BST (UK) »
Chatter researchers,

I hear there are moves afoot to introduce personal on-line ordering of LDS films for delivery to and viewing at LDS FHC's in the U.K.  I was told that the system is in use in other European countries.

Regards

Chas

That would be good.  I have to go into my FHC to order a film.  I'm not sure if this is the same at each FHC, but for me, it is a 50 mile round trip just to order a film.  The films have also gone up - £7.50 now.  Still the p/c copying is cheap, as it should be - 10p per copy instead of about 50p at some records offices I have been to.

Wish they'd introduce that in Australia, then!

That system has been introduced in Perth West. Aust. Cost increase from AU$5 to AU$7.75. This is the short loan option (about 6 weeks).

:( our cheapest one is £7.50! and shortest loan is 3 months

I expect that pays for it, though the chap in charge of our one always asks if I've finished with the reel so he can send it back, even after one look!
