Ralph Nellist and Sarah Porritt

I am wondering if anyone may be able to help with this.  I am looking for the names of the parents of Ralph Nellist b abt 1784 in Yorkshire  who married Sarah Porritt 14 December 1818 in Whitby.  It appears that Ralph died in Whitby in 1861.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you give the reference numbers for any census that you have?  (Assuming you have them) 1851 and 61 should show place of birth which means you can look for a baptism.  It is an unusual name.

It looks as if he died before the 1861 census.   1851 gives Grinkel? as place of birth.  Needs someone local to say where that is I think!  A quick google does bring up Grinkle Park as a current place though.

Thanks Andrea.  I was just looking at what he said for his birth location on the 1851 census  Ref H.O. 107/2364/18  I am not sure of where Grinkil is either and it says Sarah was born in  Sleights.

Hi, Grinkle Park, near Easington, Northumberland. I will have a look for Ralph and Sarah in Whitby today, dont know want they have on Sleights.

Hi, did not see anything for Ralph, in Whitby or Danby, however, Bapt, 6 March 1775 Sarh dau. Thomas Porrett, Fd. house,
A thomas  porrett married Sarah Bulman  3 May 1774 par. Lofthouse
will have a further look in Scarborough next week.
