MARRINERS
« on: Friday 25 March 05 10:43 GMT (UK) »
I have a John Marriner married to an Isabella Margaret Common and a Fergus Marriner married to an Elizabeth Leathard.  John was living in Hexham and was a schoolteacher.  His eldest daughter Catherine married a Thomas William  Hubbuck. Fergus lived in Prudoe and was a watchmaker.  Is there anyone who can help fill in the rest of these families for me. Thanks Norma

Sorry I forgot my dates,  John was born in Longtown Jan 1857 and married Isabella Dec 1892  they had three daughters Catherine Margaret born 1894, she married Thomas William Hubbuck in 1911 and had three sons Austin 1914, Sidney 1915, Herbert 1917. I believe from some letters I have that at some point Catherine had a postoffice in Hendley-on -the -wall,  I think this is the right spelling. Fergus was also born in Longtown in 1861, he married Elizabeth Leathard in 1897 and they had William Fergus born 1898,, John born 1902 and Catherine Isabella born 1905.  What I would like to know is where these people are now.  I have found a Caroline Marriner married to a  Llywerch W Rhys in 1923 and an Isabella Marriner married to a Thomas Muncaster in 1923 I know I could confirm that these are my Marriners by sending for the marriage certificates but am hoping that there may be some kind person who could find out this information for me.  Many thanks Norma

Probably not any help, but I have a Catherine nee Marriner (born about 1815), from Arthuret Longtown, Cumberland on one census and Camberwell Surrey on another census.  She married a William Eley (Messenger Admiralty - not sure of what that means) and had a daughter Mary Eley is my GGG who married Dean Gauntlett (Siblings Charles and Frances).

I am trying to find who Catherine’s parents were.  Is this any connection to your ancestors - or can anyone help. Thank you.
