Ashby de la Zouche baptism look up please - William Bryan
« on: Friday 23 April 10 20:53 BST (UK) »
Hello

Would anyone be able to look for a baptism of William Bryan in Ashby de la Zouch please?  His death certificate gives his date of death as 24 May 1840 and his age as 45 years, 10 months and 6 days(!) so that puts his birth around July 1794.

Many thanks  :)

Hi

I have had a check of St Helens Ashby de la Zouch and I can't see a baptism for him,  I note his wife Sarah Nurse (if I have the right man) was born in Applebyand had a daughter Jane who also says she was born in Applby before they married so you may have to look further afield I think

Many thanks for this Debbie.

Yes, you do have the right man.  William and Sarah ran the Hare and Hounds in Ashby and Sarah continued to run it after William's death in 1840; she was still the landlady in the 1861 census.

I will keep looking  :)

thanks again

Karen

Hi Diddy,

No, I didn't know about it.  Many thanks for pointing it out - the picture archive looks fascinating!   :)
