Marshall - 1841 1851 census
« on: Friday 25 March 05 13:36 GMT (UK) »
Continuing the saga of my links to a Lincs Marshall. Still not convinced that the Immingham family is the right one. I need to know if there is a John MARSHALL on the census with a son called Robert b.1828 (approx). Birthplace given as Grimsby on 1881 census.

I have not seen the earlier postings but I couldn't find John and Robert MARSHALL in Great Grimsby in 1841.

There was a 12 year old Robert at Immingham with parents Henry and Judith and 9 siblings.

Thanks - basically, I am trying to link to the Immingham family by default - there is some question regarding names but it is believed to be due to people being given one name and being known by another. Anyway, on Robert's marriage records his father's name is listed as John, whereas the Immigham guy's father is Henry. Probably John Henry or Henry John, but no validation of this so I am trying to discount the possibility of having missed another family he could have been a part of, if you know what I mean.

Hi

Thanks for that informtion - can't seem to make it fit yet, but again the names are all similar. There were so many Marshalls in Lincolnshire!! And all with the same names - it's a jungle. Will certainly hang on to  the information and hopefully it will help.

Thanks again
Karen
