Agnes Nimmo Boag b 1847 d 1923 Abercorn
« on: Monday 26 April 10 12:15 BST (UK) »
Trying to find more - I think the Nimmo is associated with her grandmother, who I think was Catherine Young. Her parents were William Boag (b Uphall 1801)and Margaret Culbert/Colbert (b Inverness 1816). I think William's parents were James Boag and Catherine Young.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards

Trying to find more
  Forwards or backwards?

Can you tell us what info you already have so we don't duplicate (eg) census/IGI/marriage etc

Did she marry?  If so - what are her marriage details

Sorry, trying to go backwards.
Her full name was Agnes Nimmo Boag and she was born/christened 30 May 1847 (parents William Boag and Margaret Cuthbert) and died 24 Oct 1923 (both events Abercorn) (both these events from IGI) Her grandparents (don't have confirmed dates for them were James Boag and Catherine Young) I think Catherine Young's sister married a Boag in the same general area.

Hi

You can't really go backwards on this one as she was only born 1847 and as she didn't marry, it would normally just be her whereabouts on the 1851-1901 census.

Do you just want census info on Agnes?

I have her on one Census 1851, but can't find her after that - can't find any of her family for that matter.
I only want to go back as far as finding her parents.

Hello

I see that your couple had at least 3 children - all born Abercorn, West Lothian

1.  Betsy Boag ch. 19 Nov 1843
2.  Agnes Nimmo Boag ch.  30 May 1847
3.  Charles Boag  ch.08 Sept 1848.

As you have the parents names - have you searched www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk to see if they died post 1855?  I'll go and have a look now.

Update;  In all of Scotland - 1855 to 1920 - there is only 01 Margaret Colbert/Cuthbert/Culbert death.  She is down as Margaret Culbert and dies in Abercorn, West Lothian in 1889.  Her death entry should hopefully give both parents and her husbands name.  In the same timeframe in all of Scotland there are 2 William Boag death. Have had to stop due to slow connection problems.

Regards,   Steve

I was wrong - I only have them on the 1841 census, William, Margaret and the 3 girls from William's first marriage Mary, Catherine and Elizabeth. I can't find any of them after that, but they must be there somewhere?
