Initials of first names in Ireland telephone book

I'm looking up the name Hayes in the Golden Pages for Co. Waterford.  Some of the names have the initials MI, or MI plus another initial, eg. MI A.

Can anyone tell me what MI is the abbreviation of?   ???

I think maybe the initials might be Ml = short for Michael?
Burns Scotland/Australia/Cork
Fitzgerald East Cork
Lynch Glanmire/Glounthaune
Walsh Clare/Westmeath
Haskett
Murley Cork
