I could not see a William s/Comfort Kingsmill in Brabourne.
Comfort and Rebecca do have Sarah in 1819 and Thomas in 1821 but no one earlier.
Sorry

William has a brother Comfort born Smeeth, in 1809, so must be part of your Comfort Kingsmill family.

Thank you so much for looking into this family Lis.
The William and other Kingsmills of Smeeth are related cousins.  This William from Brabourne remains a mystery.   In the censuses his birthplace is Brabourne 1811/12 and in later ones his daughter Ann (b1854) is shown as the grandchild of Comfort (b1783).  Comfort Kingsmill and Rebecca Crayford married in 1814 so I wondered if he was the son from an earlier as yet unknown relationship of Comfort's.  Of course his father might not have been listed if William was illegitimate at the time.

This is strange as the marriage between Comfort Kingsmill and Rebecca Crayford took place in December 1814 and yet William is born to Rebecca Crayford in 1815, Why??
Am I missing something here?

Fantastic many thanks!  But confusing!  Is it 1815?  The IGI shows a daughter Mary baptised 25 Mar 1815 at Sellinge to Rebecca and Comfort.  The marriage cert shows Comfort's parish as Sellinge.  From the censuses they seem to have 10 children the last being a William in ~1837 (Elmsted) which further confounds things since the first William lived until 1875 and second to 1876.  I do not have a baptism for the William of ~1837 and the others are from a mixture of parishes.  Maybe the first William only took on the surname Kingsmill in later life.  I cannot find him in the 1841 census despite much searching.
