St. Saviours Rd 1912
« on: Sunday 09 May 10 22:25 BST (UK) »
I have just found out that a great aunt... was living away from the family in 1912 she was born in 1892..
So could be living in --- as I have googled the house, and I think its now a garage, but the adjacent one is 3 storeys .. so I imagine, they had help in the home in those days.  So does anyone know anything about the area was it a School, or just a house.... ???
or does any one have any photos of how it may have looked back then its number 123/126 St. saviours rd East.....

thanks

xin

Greeting’s Again…Xinia.

Now the Church stands on St: Saviours Road
And the continuation of St: Saviours Road from East Park Road
becomes St: Saviours Road East.

So Street Index 1909.

ST; SAVIOURS ROAD EAST. :~

126….Miss Lizzie Glassbrooke ..Dress Maker.
128.John Moulds……Ale & Porter Merchant .

ST; SAVIOURS ROAD.:~
The church is between No’s 98 ~ 100 .

126 John Teear……. Tailor

NO   No’. 128.on this Index 126 is the last house before Mere Road

So is the East part of St: Saviours Road the right one ?  ???

OH wow ,  That fits in great... John Lewis Moulds, from Barwell is a member of the family.
But he emigrated to Canada.. This may be his father. or something need to check it out.
Uhhhm   interesting...
It is the surname of the girl sending the postcard that is vital... I was hoping for it to be Clarke.

If she is a Moulds, then everything is upside down again, and more sorting needs doing...

Brilliant Mike, thank you

Ok  so I got the 1911 census for the Moulds, and it does show them living at this address... brilliant..
so:
I know that John emigrated in 1912 and his family followed in 1913... the children where at school in that area..up until then - I am just curious as to which School..

You see I went to Medway in the 1950's  but I think that is a little too far from St. Saviours... I knew the area well in those days..
